Kurt Steinke (B: 26 June 1973) began training in Hapkido, Karate-do, and Kobujutsu in April of 1991. Mr. Steinke earned his first blackbelt rank in these three arts in October of 1993. His second degree in these arts was conferred by Master Doug Custer in November of 1995. When Mr. Steinke reached nidan (idan) with Master Custer, he began training with Soke Jerry WineBrenner. Soon thereafter, Mr. Steinke also began training with Soke Gerry (Gary) WineBrenner.
Mr. Steinke holds blackbelt ranks from 1st dan (Hamon Ryu Jukido) to 10th dan (Kei Satsu Kan Do). He was named the Head of Family for his two original arts (Shikomi Kikyo Hoshin-jutsu and Spirit Wind Hapkido) in 2004. Also that year, Mr. Steinke inherited the arts of JiShin Ryu Karate-jutsu, Rakuten Ryu Ukemi-jutsu, and Okuden-ju Ryu Taijutsu Ninpo from Soke Jerry WineBrenner. In 2008, Mr. Steinke inherited Kei Satsu Kan Do upon the death of its founder, Soke Gary WineBrenner.
Mr. Steinke has been teaching the martial arts since September of 1991 and is currently sole proprietor of Kurt’s KARATE in Worland, WY.
